In 2011 Shane and Rachel Cook opened the first Queensland franchise of the Blow Dry Bar on busy Elizabeth Street in the heart of the Brisbane CBD, Prima Commercial was engaged to deliver a complete “Turn-key Operation”.
With a tight build schedule and a fast looming Grand Opening Prima took full control and responsibility for the project. Design, scheduling and coordinating required trades, quality control and supervision of the work. Prima liaised closely with Building Management to ensure their complex “Fit-Out Agreement” was adhered to avoid complications and time delays.
The project posed the particular challenges of working within the context of a Franchise agreement: Prima researched the franchise in depth becoming fluent in all aspects of the Blow Dry Bar franchise process in order to understand and meet the priorities of both the system and the brand. In addition, Prima was able to source product and identify elements of the budget which seemed to be higher than necessary and were able to provide more cost effective options without comprising on either aesthetic, quality or function.
Prima was able to deliver on time and budget, a financially competitive project without compromise, to create a cool and funky salon, a visual aesthetic that delivers a real point of difference to the traditional hair salon in keeping with the Blow Dry Bar ethos – “Visiting our stores is more than just a visit... it's an experience!"
